Allision in Brunsbüttel

On April 15, 2019, around 4 p.m. the "Saga Wind" upon its arrival from Uusikaupunki allided with the urea bridge in the Ostermoor-Port in Brunsbüttel. The ship hit the quay despite tug assistance and suffered scratches above the water line. The shore side loading crane and some bottom plates of the pier suffered considerable damage. The cause of the allision was thought to be the too high residual speed of the bulkcarrier. The accident was recorded by the officers of the water police station Brunsbüttel. There was no sailing ban. SHe left the port again on April 23 at 5.15 p.m. and headed to Sao Francisco do Sul, ETA May 14.

Vsl experienced overheating of main engine

Vsl experienced overheating of main engine, in pos 51 02.9501 N 001 24.567 E, 19 Sep 2018. There was no pollution reported. Vessel is now underway, enroute to Dungeness Roads Anchorage to carry out further assessment and repairs if necessary. Running on aux engine.Vsl now fully repaired and is making way to its original destination. No further coastguard action is required.
