Fishing vessel received assistance after water ingress
The #Salvamar Suhail# assisted the fishing vessel 'Jose y Maria' on the late afternoon of June 15, 2025,, which had suffered a leakage two nautical miles northwest of Cádiz. With the help of the rescuers, the flooding was brought under control, and the fishing vessel, along with its two crew members, managed to reach the port of Rota safely.
Five migrants rescued from toy boats
The 'Salvamar Suhail' has rescued five North African migrants, all adults, on June 14 at around midnight, who were crossing the Strait of Gibraltar aboard two toy boats, a type of vessel similar to an inflatable boat without a motor. They were rescued in apparent good health. The CCS of Salvamento Marítimo in Tarifa had received a call minutes before 10:00 p.m. from the cargo m/v "Tc Grace" (IMO: 9130236), en route from Bilbao to Alcanar, which reported seeing two boats 20 nautical miles off the Spanish coast. Besides the "Salvamar Suhail" also the SAR helicopter Helimer 220 was deployed. After the latter provided the position of both boats, the 'Salvamar Suhail' took on board the five North African adultsat 10:40 p.m., They disembarked on June 15 at 1:10 a.m. in the port of Cádiz.
Sailing yacht pulled to Puerto Sherry
On May 19 the sailing yacht 'Aljaraz' with two crew members on board, suffered mechanical problems and requested towing assistance off Puerto Sherry. The CCS Cádiz of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Suhail', which took the boat in tow and safely pulled it to Puerto Sherry.
