Arrested ship has no connection with exporter's failure

Mon Mar 28 13:19:54 CEST 2022 Timsen

The 'San Alfonso', under arrest at Chittagong Port, was facing litigation in a local court on the plea of a local jute exporter that it incurred financial losses allegedly in exports, due to the vessel. According to the Karnaphuli, shipping agents of vessels in Bangladesh, the ship has no connection with the exporter's failure to realise money from the buyer. It remained stationary in pos. 22° 07.93' N 091° 44.76' E until its release on March 31 and headed to Colombo then, where it arrived on April 3.

The 'San Alfonso' was arrested on March 21, 2022, as per the local High Court orders at the berth number J/9 of the port in litigation. The vessel had arrived on March 17 and took a berth on Mar 19 to load/unload containers. The vessel later shifted at outer anchorage and is waiting for the owner's instruction.
