The german BSU (Federal Bureau of Maritime Casualty Investigation) has published the investigation report regarding the collision between the "Siderfly" and "Coral Ivory" on Oct 28, 2013 in the Kiel Canal. 2,5 years after the serious accident of the "Siderfly» on the Kiel Canal, the Federal Institute of Maritime Casualty Investigation (BSU) has submitted its final report. A pilot error were the cause of the collision of the ship with the "Coral Ivory". Communication between the pilot, the master and the traffic control center as a result were to be optimized, according to the report owhich was published on Mar 15, 2016. The "Siderfly" had been so badly damaged that she had to be scrapped after the salvage.
