Eimskip offloads reefer trio
Icelandic shipping line Eimskip has sealed an agreement to sell three of the company‘s reefer vessels for $12m. The vessels sold are the Langfoss (built 1991), Stigfoss (1990) and Vidfoss (1990), all of which have been operated by Eimskip in Norway for 20 years. Eimskip says it will be taking one of the vessels back on charter for the next two years.
Ice Bird grounded after engine breakdown
The "Ice Bird" ran aground in Rya on Dec 29, 2011, at 1 a.m. after an engine breakdown. After the ship was refloated, it proceeded to Tromsø. It had loaded at the Troms Fryse terminal before the accident.
