Freighter sank tug in collision
On Feb 2, 2017, at 6.30 a.m. The "SK No.1" collided with a 161-ton tug about 1,5 kilometers off the Mokpogu Lighthouse in the Mokpo Strait. The aggregates carrier was en route from Jeju to Mokpo. The tug sank, its four crew members were rescued by the freighter which suffered damages at the starboard side of the bow with the bulbous bow being penetrated. The ship berthed in the Yongdang port of Mokpo on Feb 3 at 7.50 a.m.
