Ship broken up two years after engine damage
The 'Skylark' had suffered engine failure at Istanbul on May 1, 2018, Repairs were not carried out, due to repair expenses and considering the age of the vessel. The vessel has been sold to Aliaga based recycling breakers for scrap value on May 15, 2020. Upon completion of formalities, a tug was appointed to tow the vessel from Istanbul to Aliaga where it was berthed at a recycling pier on May 25. The vessel's status changed fto dead as of May 26.
