Cargo ship slammed into river homes
The "Star 62" ploughed into riverside houses along the Chao Phraya River in Phra Pradaeng district in the morning of Apr 5, 2017, at 8.30 a.m., thereby damaging three homes. The ship which was enroute from Bangkok to Singapore ran aground at Phra Pradaeng pier off Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan road in Tambon Talad. Residents fled in panic as the ship rammed into the houses. The ship was unloaded and had suffered a staring geer failure. The master and crew were questioned at the Phra Pradaeng police station.
