Barge breached in allision

The "Stelvio", 998 ts (EU-No.: 06503550), coming from Breskens, allided with a quay on the Gent-Terneuzen Canal near the Sas van Gent Bridge in the morning of Dec 5, 2018. The ship was breached and suffered water ingress. The cargo hold was flooded, and the ship settled low in the water. It was secured at the canal quay near Gent. No pollutants were released, and the ship traffic on the canal was not affected. Pumps were placed inside the ship in an attempt to drain the water. A diver was called to inspect the damage. The tugs "Hendrik 3" (MMSI: 244690125), "Martens 7" (MMSI: 244010803) and the patrol boat "RWS 88" (MMSI: 244650398) of Rijkswaterstaat were on site to assist. After the bow raised in the water, it was found heavily damaged.
