Disabled tanker towed to Tuzla
The 'SYN Turais', en route from Istanbul, suffered an engine failure south of Canakkale on March 23, 2021. As repair works could not be carried out by the crew, the tug 'Yumurtalik' was tasked to tow the vessel to Tuzla. The towage operation commenced on March 26. During the transit of the Canakkale Strait, a Coastal Safety tug provided escort service for the vessel and for the Strait traffic safety. On March 28 at 6.45 a.m. the tanker moored in pos. 40° 50.51' N 029° 13.12' E in the Tuzla shipyard area.
