Allision in Kaoshiung

The 'Tai Gang' allided with the dock of the CSBC Shipbuilding Corporation at Kaohsiung in the morning of Jan 6, 2020, while leaving the port. The accident was caused by a steering failure. Both dock and the ship’s bow were damaged and the hull breached below the water line. The ship was towed to a berth and was repaired until Jan 9 when it left Kaohsiung at 8.10 a.m, bound for Quanzhou, Fujian Province. On Jan 12 it moored on Quanzhou's outer anchorage where it remained stationary in pos. 24° 46.33' N 118° 48.27' E as of Jan 13.

Grounding off Quanzhou

The Quanzhou MRCC received a distress call from the "Tai Gang" on July 5, 2016, at 4.45 p.m. The vessel had run aground off Quanzhou in the Taiwan Strait. Lifeboats were sent to the vessel which, howver, looked stable. The ship was refloated with high tide in the evening.
