Sat Oct 16 21:19:50 CEST 2021 Timsen

The two tugs 'Tekun 12262' and 'Teguh 16501' along with two barges were detained at two locations in Malaysian waters on Oct 15, 2021, for failing to submit required documents and insurance. They detected when the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) Penang conducted a patrol through Op Pertiwi at 4.30 p.m. The tugs were seized 0,3 nautical miles northwest of Sungai Pinang and 1,1 nautical miles from Pantai Bersih respectively. The inspection of the 'Teguh 16501' showed that it was operated by seven crew members including the captain, consisting of two locals, two Bangladeshis and three Indonesians aged between 21 and 42 years. The 'Tekun 12262' was operated by seven crew members including the captain, consisting of two locals, two Bangladeshis and three Indonesians who were between 19 and 40 years old. The inspection of the foreign crew showed that all of them had valid identity documents and work permits, but they were detained for failing to submit ship documents and insurance during the inspection.
