Barge approached by armed perpetrators

While the 'Telford 28' was anchored in position 18 48 50N, 091 46 23W, she was approached by five perpetrators armed with a gun aboard a fishing vessel at the Cuidad Del Carmen anchorage on July 14, 2021, around 03,30 a.m. Seeing the armed guards on board the barge, the perpetrators aborted their approach and moved away. The incident was reported to the Cuidad Del Carmen Port Authority and a local Naval vessel was dispatched to the anchorage.

One crew member medevaced with shoot injuries after pirate attack

One crew member, he crane operator Zamri Bin Sukri, 35, was injured when the DP 3 Dynamic ship 'Telford 28' was boarded by pirates 25 kilometers from the Isla del Carmen port. He was transferred to the Carmelite island in a boat of the Secretary of the Navy for treament in a private clinic. The Seventh Naval Zone of the Secretary of the Navy sent a Defender-type boat to the vessel. An ambulance of the Protexa company took him to the naval facilities located on Calle 20 por 15 in the Manigua neighborhood at 3:45 in the morning of April 15. He had two wounds from the entry of a firearm projectile at the level of the tibia of the right leg, but was stable. The armed men stole belongings of the crew as well as autonomous breathing equipment, a tool among other things but, everything, under threat of death to the personnel .

Accomodation ship boarded by robbers

The 'Telford 28' was attacked by robbers in the evening of April 14, 2020, at the Cuidad Del Carmen anchorage in the Gulf of Mexico. The robbers boarded the accomodation ships and looted both staff and vessel’s valuable items, and escaped. One crew member was injured and taken to hospital where he recovered well. The Mexican Navy responded quickly and attended the vessel.
