Maiden voyage after fire
A massive fire, along with several other errors, had set plans back somewhat, but on Aug 1, 2025, the 'Thalassitis' finally sets sail on is maiden voyage from Piraeus to Crete. The ferry will, however, sail only on a roll-on/roll-off basis, without carrying passengers.
Allision in Ystad
On Oct 24, 2019, at 11 a.m. the 'Jan Sniadecki' got out of control upon entering the port of Ystad, coming from from Swinoujscie, where she had sailed at 6 a.m., and allided with a pier. The ship's bow suffered severe damage and was holed above the bulbous bow. The pier was damaged too. Before the ferry slammed into the pier, she also got dangerously close to another berthed ferry. The cause of the accident was yet unknown. The ship left the port again on Oct 25 at 2.30 p.m. After a final call at Swinoujscie she left the port on OCt 26 at 11.40 a.m. and arrived at the Makrum SA Pomerania Shipyard in Szczecin at 3.20 p.m. the same day for repairs.
