Ferry became target of bomb threat
On the afternoon of Sep 21, the Chios Port Authority was informed of a threat of an explosive device inside the C'ThalassitisÄ. The report was made by telephone, before the ship set sail for Piraeus. The plan to locate and neutralize an explosive device was immediately implemented, and all passengers were disembarked and all vehicles were unloaded. Following a check carried out by an explosive detection dog, with negative results, the ship set sail with 10 passengers, 10 vehicles, 48 trucks and onemotorcycle, to carry out its scheduled route. A preliminary investigation was being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Chios.
