Tanker grounded in Lough
The 'Thun Liffy' ran aground at the mouth of Lough Foyle on Dec 29, 2020, around 9.10 a.n. in pos. 55° 12.00' N 006° 56.78' W. The ship was en route from Derry to Milford Haven, saling in ballast, when it got stuck near Greencastle. The tugs 'Shrove' (MMSI: 235013522) and 'Strathfoyle' (IMO: 9777137) were deployed to the grounding site. The ship was expected to be refloated in the afternoon with the rising tide. The Norths Coastguard was notfied. The tanker moored off Derry in pos. 55° 10.71' N 007° 1.65' W on Dec 30 after having been refloated.
