Cargo ship suspected to have been involved in hit and run accident
The "Tiger West" was suspected to have been involved in a hit and run accident on June 11, 2016, in the South China Sea. The ship was en route from Itaqui to Fangcheng. Reportedly an unidentified freighter struck the Vietnamese fishing vessel "BV 4507 TS" and left the scene. The fishing vessel sank, and 12 of the 13 crew members were rescued by a nearby fishing vessel, one fisherman died. The Vietnamese authorities later identified the freighter as the "Tiger West". Investigations were under way.
