Medevac off Lanvéoc
On Dec 17, 2016 at 09.40 a.m. the CROSS Gris Nez was informed that a crew member aboard the "Triton" was injured at the hand 160 miles off Lanvéoc. Following a conference call with the Maritime Medical Coordination, the decision was made to medevac the 50-year-old sailor. A Caiman helicopter took off from the naval base Lanvéoc-Poulmic with a medical team on board at 11:08 a.m. and joined the ship at noon. The patient was taken care of by the medical team and then hoisted aboard the Cayman at 12:33 p.m. The helicopter then headed for the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest and delivered to the the hospital staff at 1:23 p.m.
