Passenger fell from deck 14 and died

Tue Apr 04 12:05:34 CEST 2023 Timsen

A passenger died in a fall aboard the 'Valiant Lady' in the evening of April 2, 2023. The ship immediately returned to Port Miami to debark the deceased passenger. At approximately 9:35 p.m. the female passenger fell from her Deck 14 stateroom balcony onto one of the ship’s lower decks. Her injuries were severe, and while emergency medical care was administered as quickly as possible, it was not successful. The ship berthed in port on April 2 and sailed again more than 24 hours later on April 3.

Search for passenger who jumped over board suspended

Fri Apr 01 19:19:27 CEST 2022 Timsen

A male passenger of the 'Valiant Lady' allegedly jumped overboard en route to Portsmouth in the night of March 30, 2ß22. When it was discovered that the man was missing, the ship turned round to search for him. Coastguards in France and Spain were alerted and an aircraft and a helicopter were dispatched to try to locate the passenger in the water. Two merchant vessels in the vicinity were also diverted to assist in the search. After hours of searching in vain the rescue operation was suspended in the evening of March 31. The passenger, believed to be British, was now feared drowned. Inquiries on board revealed that the man had apparently jumped overboard deliberately. The 'Valiant Lady' resumed the voyage and berthed in Portsmouth on April 1 at 7 p.m., around 12 hours later than originally planned.
