Technical failure in Stockholm
On July 14, 2019, the "Viking Cinderella" suffered a technical problem and was unable to leave its berth in Stockholm where it had arrived from Mariehamn at 2.50 p.m. It also affected the "Rosella" which was waiting for a bus with passengers from the "Viking Cinderella" in Kapellskär. The trouble was resolved only at 11.30 p.m.
Ferry had to skip call at Visby in storm
1,505 passengers were caught in heavy winds aboard the "Viking Cindarella" on July 5, 2019. The wind blew with 15-20 meters per second and made it impossible for the ship to enter the port of Visby. Many were seasick, and the ship is tilting quite heavily. The ferry required assistance of the pilot boat "Tug" to get safely in port at 9 a.m. After more than four hours and two unsuccessful attempts to berth, the captain finally decided to return to Mariehamn and Stockholm. Passenger tried to start fire
A small fire broke out on deck six of the "Viking Cinderella" in the night of July 31, 2018. A passenger had tried to light fire on a garment. It started to smoke, and fortunately it was discovered on time so staff aboard the ship could extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher, thereby inhaling some smoke. For safety reasons they were taken to a hospital in Mariehamn for a checkup. A total of three people were admitted to the hospital. During the night, the police was called to the West Port and now suspected the passenger for sabotage. The suspect has no address in Finland and was arrested for the crime which gives imprisonment from four months to four years.Upload News
