Fire in cargo hold
A fire broke out in cargo hold 1 of the "Golden 168" in the early morning of Mar 8, 2015, at 3 a.m. The vessel was being anchored off Vung Tau since Feb 9. It had encountered an engine breakdown in February while being en route from Nha Trang, where she had sailed on Feb 6, to Hong Kong with 6,600 tons of copra on board. Vietnamese rescuers evacuated all 20 crew members, 11 Myanmar nationals, five Chinese nationals, three Vietnamese nationals and one Bangladesh.
