No hint on settlement regarding Sheng Mu

Thu Feb 02 23:13:15 CET 2012 Timsen

The "Sheng Mu" is still under arrest in the Port of Napier because of a civil dispute in the Middle East without any hint of a settlement after a month out of action and berth fees mounting well over $40,000. The departure of the vessel has been prohibited by a High Court order under the Admiralty Act. It was placed under arrest after arriving on January 2. At the centre of the order is a dispute between companies in Dubai, but it does not involve Hong Kong-based operators Fenwick Shipping Services. Its berthage is subject to a daily fee based on its size, but that had increased over the time it had been in Port and there were extra costs of moving the ship within the Port to make way for other shipping, which has happened at least twice during the extended lay-off.

Ship remains arrested

Thu Jan 19 12:16:58 CET 2012 Timsen

The "Sheng Mu" which was placed under maritime arrest after arriving in the Port of Napier 17 days ago remained tied up with no sign of impending departure on Jan 19, 2012. The ship is held under an Admiralty Act order which had been made in the Auckland High Court last month. The ship was ordered to be held after it arrived in the Port of Napier on January 2. Sheng Mu arrested at Port of Napier over money dispute

Wed Jan 11 10:05:21 CET 2012 arnekiel

A 144-metre arrested ship remained tied-up at the Port of Napier today, its departure delayed almost a week by a money dispute based thousands of kilometres away in the Middle East. The Sheng Mu, a 16,860-tonne vessel operated by Hong Kong-based Fenwick Shipping Services, arrived on January 2 and was to have departed three days later. But it's now under arrest, under an Admiralty Act order made in the High Court in Auckland last month, and unable to sail without resolution between disputing companies in Dubai.
