The Customs and Excise Office has intercepted the "TeOil II" in Riau Province waters while it was allegedly attempting to smuggle gasoline out of the country on Nov 18, 2010. It was spotted nearby Tuju islet jointly with the "Jie Sheng" while transferring fuel from one to the other. The customs alleged the smugglers were planning to resell the fuel on Singapore’s black market. The manifest of the "Eterna Oil II" states that the boat was carrying 613.5 tons of fuel heading to Sangatta, East Kalimantan. On Nov. 17, the office also intercepted the "Elang Laut" steaming from West Kalimantan carrying 198 sacks of tin to Malaysia without proper documentation.
