Castaways arrived in Abidjan
Two days after the sinking of the "Albacora Seis" in the Gulf of Guinea, its 29 crew members, several of them from Morrrazo, arrived in Abidjan aboard the "Kurtzio" (IMO: 7385461) on Feb 17. All were safe and sound after the shipwreck. They had jumped into the water after the ship began to sink due to a leak and were rescued by another ship that worked in the area, the "Montelape" (IMO: 8021775), belonging to the Calvo Group fleet. Subsequently, the "Kurtzio" - a ship of the owner of the "Albacora Seis" - was called to collec the crew for their transfer to land.
Longliner sank, crew rescued

The 'Kurtzio', another Spanish ship in the tuna fleet of the Nicra-7 company, rescued the 29 crew members in good health. They were transferred onto another fishing vessel, the 'Monte Lape', belonging to the Calvo Group from Carballo.
