Spare parts for repair provided

Permanent repairs of the fire in the accomodation block in April were yet to be completed, and a new set of spare parts were provided by the owners. The vessel remaine stationary in shipyard at Tuzla as of June 16.

Fire in Tuzla

The "Sormovskiy 118" which was drydocked at the Astaş Shipyard in Tuzla, suffered a fire in the superstructure on the decks 2 and 3 on April 17, 2019. Several fire engines responded, and the fire could be extinguished and the ship ventilated. The ship had entered the yard the day before. No injuries were reported. The damages were repaired at the Astas shipyard in Tuzla. Grounding on the Don

The "Sormovskiy 118" ran aground on the river Don in the area of the buoys 55-57 on March 15, 2018, at 5.20 a.m., while sailing downstream with a pilot on board. The ship was loaded with 3.000 tons of wheat. A steering failure caused the grounding after which ship traffic in the area was barred. The vessel was refloated about five hours later and taken upstream to an anchorage for surveys.
