Medevac on the Elbe
On June 29, 2016, an emergency happened on the "Amadea" on the Elbe. A female passenger was seriously injured. The DLRG was alerted. The boat "Kiek Ut" with a crew of three and four medicals was mobilized in Stadersand and reached the cruise ship within three minutes. The woman had been resuscitated in the ship's hospital. 45 minutes later she was disembarked onto the DLRG boat while the "Amadea" was moving with slow speed ahead in the narrow fairway. The patient was taken to Stadersand where an amulance was waiting to take her to the Elbe-hospital.
Itinerary changed twice due to rough weather
The "Amadea" was diverted from Wismar to Warnemünde on July 10, 2015, due to stormy weather on the Baltic Sea. Due to ongoing problems with the wind, the ship finally headed to Travemuende where she berthed at the Ostpreussen Quay at 10.45 a.m.
Torbay detour for cruise ship Amadea due to bad weather
BAD weather on Tuesday morning meant Dartmouth missed out on its first cruise ship of the season. The ship MV Amadea, which is carrying around 600 passengers who are mainly German, was due to visit the port from around noon. However, the 192-metre ship was making her way into Tor Bay instead. Her last port of call was Cork. Winds were gusting up to 40mph off the South Hams coast on Tuesday morning. Coaches were waiting at Torquay harbourside, with Dartmoor among the destinations for the visiting cruise passengers.
