Bulk carrier boarded by robbers

The 'SBI Hercules' was boarded by robbers at Cam Pha Port in position 20 54 54.0N, 107 16 42.0E, on March 15, 2021, between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. They broke into two crew cabins, stole ship's and crew cash and escaped unnoticed. The local authorities were informed and an investigation was carried out.

Grounding on Mississippi

The 'SBI Hercules' was disabled in the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi on Jan 1, 2020. The vessel was anchored at the edge of the channel and was being assisted by two tugs. The Coastguard has established one-way traffic at river mile 15 below Head of Passes. A VTS measure was in effect restricting inbound/outbound deep draft vessels to 47 feet draft or less, and for one-way traffic and slowest safe speed from MM-14 to MM-16 BHP. On Jan 8 the 'SBI Hercules' remained disabled at the Southwest Pass, currently anchored at the edge of the channel and being assisted by the tug 'Miriam W. Cooper' (MMSI: 366921080) and thepilot boat 'William Johnso' (MMSI: 366957490).
