Fire in Yellow Sea
A fire broke out aboard the "Bo Hai Ma Zhu" en route from Yantai to Dalian in the Yellow Sea about two hours after leaving Yantai in the night of May 8, 2019. The ferry turned back and reached the west basin in Yantai under own power in the morning of May 9. All passengers were immediately evacuated. The fire was extinguished at the quay. The ship sailed from Yantai port on May 16 and arrived at Shidao on May 17 where it was docked at the Huanghai Shipbuilding Yard for repairs. She sailed again on June 4 at 7.50 a.m. and headed to Dalian, where it berthed at the general cargo terminal on June 5 at 12.40 p.m.
