Allision in Brunsbüttel
On Dec 5, 2015, at 08.43 a.m. the police launch "Schwansen" was alerted to the "Carolin G“ after she had allided with the Navy Pilings at the South Quay in Brusbüttel after an engine malfunction. The ship had left the quay when at km 4,5 of the Kiel Canal the engine failed and the ship ran towards the northern embankment with 5-6 knots. In spite of the attempt of slowing down the ship by dropping the port sie anchor the ship slammmed into the pilings, damaging two of them. The bow of the ship suffered dents, the ship was detained for inspections. It left the port again on Dec 7 short past 10 p.m. bound for Swinoujscie.
