Engine failure off Haydarpaşa

The 'Clyde', en route from Ust-Luga to Istanbul, suffered an engine malfunction south of Haydarpaşa in the Marmara Sea on Nov 8, 2022. The ship got assistance by the tug 'Kurtarma 11' and was safely moored at the Ahırkapı Anchorage under the coordination of the Istanbul VTS Center at 1.10 p.m UTC. Tanker does not take cargo in Libya

The "Newlead Avra" which had been thought to be sailing towards Mellitah in western Libya, failed to load a cargo and was heading to Cyprus on Sep 15, 2011. The "Newlead Avra" was instructed to sail to Limassol, without having collected the Libyan cargo.

The "Newlead Avra" is sailing to the Libyan port of Mellitah, a sign the nation may be resuming energy exports. The ship which is capable of hauling about 540,000 barrels, signaled on Sep 12, 2011 about 30 miles from the Libyan coast. The vessel is 7.9 meters deep in the water, compared with a maximum draft of 14.45 meters when fully loaded. The "Newlead Avr"a is on a 12-month charter to Vitol Group and currently has no cargo onboard, according to the Newlead Holdings Ltd., which owns the vessel.
