Detention in Poole

The "Ferox" was detained in Poole where she docked on Oct 21, 2013, due to an apparent unseaworthiness of the vessel, by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The ship had towed the tank barges "Valetta" and "Rix Harrier". The "Ferox" was only released from detention in Harlingen on Sep 19 having been detained for 21 days for 24 deficiencies to her magnetic compass, charts and nautical publications. Tug fouled propeller off Manacle Rocks

On Oct 11, 2013, at 1:35 p.m. following discussion with Falmouth Coastguard it was agreed that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat should be launched to standby the "Ferox" and the two barges that it had been towing. The tug had fouled its propeller and there was concern that the vessels were potentially on a lee shore off the Manacle Rocks.
