Medevac off Phuket
The engineer of the 'MCC Mandalay' suffered a heart attack while the vessel was 50 nautical miles off the coast of Phuket on Jan 31, 2022. At about 3.20 p.m. the ship called for help as the man needed immediate medical attention. The patrol boat 'Tor 233' took aboard a medical team from HMTS Laem Sing and headed to the ship's assistance. It rendezvoused with the ship, and the engineer was brought ashore at 7.10 p.m. at the 3rd Naval Area's landing pier in Phuket. He was admitted for treatment at the Bangkok Hospital Phuket.
