Engine trouble in English Channel
On July 16, 2021, around 3 p.m. the 'Ji Xiang Song', en route from St. Petersburg to Malta with 23 crew members on board, suffered problems with the exhaust valve on the main engine. There was no power to the engine and the vessel was unable to manoeuver in position 50 29 05.0N, 000 02 43.0W at the exit of the Dover Traffic Separation Scheme. The crew carried out repairs which were completed at 3.45 p.m, and the ship continued its voyage with an ETA as of July 24.
