Two migrants rescued from paddle boards

On Sep 25, 2022, at 10:15 a.m. the SAR boat 'Salvamar Denébola' rescued a sub-Saharan man on a paddle surf board located four nautical miles southeast off Punta Carnero. At 11:21 a.m., the 'María Zambrano' rescued a North African man on another paddle surf board two nautical miles south of Punta Europa. Both migrants were transferred to the SAR boat 'Salvamar Arcturus' (MMSI: 225986507), which transported them to Algeciras.

SAR operation off Mazagón

On Jan 18, 2022 a crew member of the Spanish f/v 'Bienvenido Primero- ON 3-CA-1-4-99' from Rota went over board five nautical miles off Matalascañas, three miles southeast of Mazagón (Huelva). Upon the distress call, Salvamento Marítimo initially deployed the 'María Zambrano' for an SAR operation. She was joined by the SAR boats 'Guardamar Talía' and 'Salvamar Illes Pitiuses' the Helimer 204 helicopter and the patrol boat 'Rio Saja'. The search was coordinated by the CCS Huelva. The divers of the Special Group for Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Civil Guard have also intervened, so far without results.
