'Medevac off Sainte Marie

On Feb 27, 2017, the "Moïse Bègue 2" was alerted after a crew member of the "Mo Dominance" was suffering from serious health problems. At 12:30, the CROSS-Ru triggered a pre-alert. The bulkcarrier is located 14 nautical miles north of Réunion Island. Almost two hours later, the alert was confirmed. The "Moïse Bègue 2" headed towards the ship with 15 knots and 6 volunteers, including a doctor, on board. The vessels met at 3 p.m. six miles north of Sainte-Marie, and the patient was transferred onto the SNSM boat which was back in port at 3:25 p.m., where an ambulance awaited the man for the further transport to the hospital.
