Oil spill in Newark
The 'Northern Magnitude', while bunkering at the port of Newark, spilled fuel into the port waters on Oct 30, 2020. The Portuguese maritime inspection office has started the procedures for gathering evidence for analysis and is liaising with its United States counterpart. The ship left the port of New York the same day and headed to Charleston, where it arrived on Oct 31.
