Repair in Algericas

Thu Dec 08 11:33:00 CET 2016 Timsen

Both the "FT Foce" and the "Happy Eagle" will be repaired in Algericas and have moved to the port of Algeciras in the last hours. The LPG tanker berthed at the pier Isla Verde Exterior, next to the facilities of Total Terminal International Algeciras S.A.U. on Nov 7 at 3 p.m., where the efforts to repair the damages will be continued. On Dec 4 the "FT Foce" which was in ballast has suffered an engine failure and slammed into the starboard side stern of the "Happy Eagle", moored at the Alfau pier and about to leave the Ceuta enclave. After the accident both ships remained in waters of the Autonomous City. The "FT Foce" was anchored in the bay, off the coast of Getares. Allision in Ceuta

Mon Dec 05 09:45:34 CET 2016 Timsen

On Dec 4, 2016, at 7.30 a.m. the "FT Foce" struck the stern of the moored LPG tanker "Happy Eagle" which was berthed at the Alfau Wharf in Ceuta while maneuvering as she was leaving the port. The "FT Foce" got out of control after an engine failure. The ships remained hooked together until initial investigations showed that there was no serious damage. The "FT Foce" suffered bow damages, whereas the starboard hull of the "Happy Eagle" suffered dents and damaged railings. Work then began to separate the vessels, while members of the classification societies of both ships started investigating the exact amount of damage. For this purpose both ships remained moored in the dock of Alfau. Spanish report with photos: http://elpueblodeceuta.es/not/13475/dos-buques-mercantes-sufren-un-accidente-en-el-interior-del-puerto/
