Bulker disabled in Indian Ocean

The "Filia Grace" on June 15, 2015, was reported disabled and adrift in the vicinity of 22 00S 063 15E, 160 nautical miles south off Port Maturin, in the Indian Ocean. The ship suffered blackout of the engine during the voyage from Wopl to Bata carrying 14,000 tons of rice. The vessel engineers were working to repair the engine.The drifting bulk carrier Filia Grace was noticed by nearby vessels, which got in contact with the duty officers and understood that all the crew were in good health and there were no serious damages of the vessel. The company operator and officers still were not requesting any assistance from the authorities of Madagascar. The ship was in an area with increased cautious from piracy attacks.
