Collision in Dardanelles

The "Princess Maria" was in collision with the "Karaağaç" (IMO: 9353216) on Oct 19, 2016, at 04.10 a.m. Both vessel were entering the Dardanelles from the Aegean Sea when the "Princess Maria" slammed into the port side of the bulkcarrier while both ships were sailing in the sam direction. The "Princess Maria" was bound from Iskenderun to Kerch, the "Karaağaç" from Suez to Bandirma. Both vessels suffered damages, the "Princess Maria" confirmed bow damage at starboard side. Both vessel were taken to a safe anchorage at Bozcaada in Çanakkale for surveys and investigations. The vessel traffic service dispatched the tug "Kıyı Emniyeti-9" for this purpose.
