Engine failure in Bosphorus
The 'Medkon Mra' suffered an engine failure while transiting the Bosphorus in southern direction off Vanikoy in the afternoon of Oct 30, 2021. The ship, which was en route from Odessa to Ambarli, started to drift, and was stopped being dangerously close to the shore. Later the ship completed the transit, assisted by the tugs 'Kurtarma 7' and 'Mehrmetcik' as well as the lifeboat 'KEGM 3' under the coordination of our Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center, and moored at Ahirkapi anchorage.
