in the morning of Aug 23, 2020, the 'Oel Hind' developed a list of eight degrees to starboard side and rested on the quay at berth 11 at Chittagong. The accident was caused by a faulty cargo plan and subsequently, loading and positioning of empty and loaded containers when the number of heavy containers on top increased. A port crane offloaded 20 containers with a weight of 500 tonnes, but though the list decreased a bit, the stability could not be restored, and ship didn’t leave port towards Singapore as scheduled, in the afternoon but remained berthed at the container terminal. It had on board 964 containers bound for Europe and America, among them 105 empty containers. Also the shp's crane was damaged. On Aug 24 another attempt was to be made to balance the ship. To unload the heavy containers the ship must be transferred to a jetty with a gantry crane.
