Technical failure in Istanbul Strait

The 'Sormovskiy 3052', en route from Taganrog to Tekirdag, suffered a technical failure while transiting the Istanbul Strait westbound on Jan 12, 2022. The ship moored at Büyükdere anchorage around 3 p.m., where repairs were commenced by the crew. The ship berthed in Marmara Ereglisi on Jan 13 at 12.30 p.m.

Repairs of grounding damage completed

The "Sormovskiy 3052" which had run aground in the Gulf of Finland in pos. 60 03.2 N 28 19.5 E on June 18, 2018, left St. Petersburg after repairs on Sep 9, bound to Tolyatti, ETA Sep 21. The ship had been holed in the bow with two ballast compartments and the bow-thruster sustaining damage.

Grounding off Seskar

The "Sormovskiy 3052" ran aground on June 18, 2018, at 03.40 a.m. north of Seskar island in the Gulf of Finland in pos. 60° 3.42' N 028° 19.91' E. The ship was en route from St. Petersburg to Police. It suffered hull breaches in the bow section and in the thruster compartment as well as damages along port and starboard side. The ship was in loaded condition. Divers were called to check the underwater hull during daytime in order to determine a salvage plan. The 11 crew members were remaining on board.
