Tanker suffered techical trouble

Fri Jan 25 10:20:58 CET 2019 Timsen

The "Spessart" had to enter the Naval Base in Kiel on Jan 23, 2019, due to technical trouble which it had suffered only one week after having joined a NATO mission. The dismission caused logistical problems for the other ships of the force which were due to enter the port of Rotterdam at the weekend. She remained stationary at the base and supplied the US destroyer "Gravely" in port. For this purpose the destroyer entered the naval port on Jan 26. Also the tender "Werra" which had headed to the Mediterranean Sea on Jan 21 had to aboart its mission and returned to Wilhelmshaven for investigations at its stern tube on Jan 24.
