Engine trouble near Vancouver Island

The 'Star Carioca' suffered engine trouble and was disabled and adrift about 30 nautical miles Southwest of Bamfield, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, in position 48 27 04.8N, long 125 43 02.4W, on June 6, 2021, around 7 a.m. The crew carried out repairs, and the vessel resumed its voyage. On June 9 the ship dropped anchor at Roberts Bank near Nanaimo in pos. 49° 5.38' N 123° 41.82' W.

Bulkcarrier grounded at Belledune

The "SBI Carioca", loaded with 65000 tons of petcoke ran aground on Oct 11, 2017, around 8 a.m. at Belledune, New Brunswick, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Bulkcarrier got stuck on muddy bottom, and was not damaged. The vessel was refloated in the evening and moored near the grounding site for investigations. It had arrived at Belledune from Norfolk, USA.
