Repairs to last until end of the month

Repairs to the main switchboard and pertinent connections of the 'T-Mare' were expected to be completed by end of January 2022 at the yard in Tuzla. Load tests and insulation system performance tests will be carried out at the anchorage under supervision of class surveyor. Subsequently, a new set of trading certificates will be issued by the classification society and flag state authority.

Damage survey after fire

After the fire in the engine room of the 'T-Mare' on Nov 26, a detailed damage survey and technical inspection was carried out by the fire brigade's investigation desk. Fire reports have been prepared by a technical expert, and based on the recommendations of class surveyor, repairs of the damage have commenced by shipyard teams along with crew. The entire electrical insulation system was being tested by electrical engineers. The vessel remained stationary at Tuzla as of Dec 9.

A fire broke out in the engine room of the 'T-Mare' at the Torgem Shipyard in Tuzla on Nov 26, 2021, where the ship was berthed for repair and maintenance. The fire brigade of the shipyard immediately intervened. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department also came to the scene. With the help of the fire fighters, the fire was brought under control. The cooling works on the ship continued.
