A 30-year-old Filipino sailor died in an accident on board the "Thorco Atlantic" on June 28, 2012. The man fell into one of the ship's cargo hold while the ship was berthed at Texas Terminal No. 37 on the Houston Ship Channel. He was preparing the ship to receive cargo, when he crashed in one of the cargo holds for unknown reasons. Short after the accident, the Filipino was flown by helicopter to the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, but he was dead on arrival.

Beluga Notification, while under arrest, has been ordered by the Federal Court of Australia to sail from Townsville to an inner harbour anchorage at Brisbane Port. According to the court order, the Marshal was of the view that it was not appropriate for the ship to stay at Townsville and sought an order to have the vessel moved to Brisbane, Lloyds List DCN reported.
