On May 26, 2024, the 'Manxman' was delayed en route to Heysham, after it diverted to assist a yacht in distress. The ferry was tasked by Holyhead Coastguard to standby the yacht which had lost power and had a injured person aboard. It diverted to the boat and was on the scene within ten minutes of the call. Its rescue boat teams prepared for launch in case of need. The Holyhead Coastguard stood the 'Manxman' down to resume her scheduled sailing as another vessel was on scene and able to assist. Fleetwood and Barrow lifeboats wer ealso en route. The 'Manxman' was making best speed and aiming to be alongside in Heysham at 12 p.m., just 15 minutes behind schedule. Port of Oslo in Norway has signed a cooperation agreement with an environmental non-profit organisation to help it become emission-free. The Port of Oslo, which first talked about its zero-emission ambition in June, will partner with the Oslo-headquartered Bellona Foundation to achieve its zero-emission goal. Emissions in the port are anticipated to be reduced by 85% by 2030 and gradually reduce until they are eliminated. “The Port of Oslo is in full swing with the green transition, and has begun the phasing in of emissions-free solutions,” said Port of Oslo chairman, Roger Schjerva. “It is enthusiastic about working alongside the Bellona Foundation and exchanging ideas and solutions with Bellona’s network of environmental experts and organizations. In the morning of Aug 17, 2019, around 7 a.m. a fire broke out aboard the Namibian trawler "Ocean Tide", 296 gt (IMO: 7220839), which was moored at the jetty of the Seaworks Fish Processors. One of the 20 crew members on board, was found dead following the fire. The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Hausiku Mathews Sivambo. It was believed he became trapped inside the vessel and burned to death. His body was removed the next morning. The family of the deceased was present at the scene. A migrant boat was in need of assistance 2.5 nautical miles from La Restinga on May 24. The CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Adhara', which located a canoe with 63 sub-Saharan people, among them 58 men, four women and one minor, on board. Australia’s New South Wales government said on Wednesday it will fast track its review of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal at the port of Newcastle, proposed by a South Korean firm, as the state urgently looks to beef up gas supply. The $430 million Newcastle GasDock LNG project, planned by South Korean firm EPIK, was declared “critical state significant infrastructure”, which means the project will not have to go to the state’s independent planning commission for approval, saving several months in the review process.

The KMP 'Gerbanga Samudra 5' ran aground in the waters near LCM Gilimanuk Pier, Gilimanuk Village, Melaya District, Jembrana, on May 25, 2024, at around 05.10 a.m. WITA after being dragged by the current. The ferry successfully evacuated at around 08.55 a.m. The ship had just left the LCM Gilimanuk Pier at around 05.05 a.m. en route to Ketapang with cargo. During the turning manoever, strong currents and winds caught the ship which ran aground. The captain immediately lowered the ramp to prevent the ship from being dragged further, about 50 meters from the LCM Gilimanuk Pier. During the high tide, the ship refloate at 08.55 a.m.. At 09.15 a.m. it docked at LCM Gilimanuk Pier, and the unloading process continued. Because one of the trucks broke down, it was only finished at 11.40 a.m. . After unloading the cargo, the ship was inspected by a Marine Inspector from the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) and officers from the Gilimanuk Port Organizing Unit. On May 25, 2024, the 'Osaka' loaded with 40696 tons of petroleum products, was dragged ashore off the coast of Haydarpaşa due to a rudder failure en route from Norovosyisk to Mersin. The tanker was secured by the tugs 'Kurtarma 7', 'Kurtarma 10' and 'Kurtarma 11' under the coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center, assisted by a pilot. Gautam Adani is looking to expand his ports empire by closing in on buying a 65-70 per cent stake in Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd, the entity promoted by Hyderabad-based CVR Group to run a private deep-water port at Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s biggest private port operator, is expected to pay more than ₹5,500 crore to buy the stake which will give it access to the country’s largest waterfront area (for a port) of 12.5 km and a transit storage area of 6,800 acres. It started operations in 2008. Currently, the port has a draft of 18.5 metres, a depth that can accommodate full-loaded Capesize vessel of 200,000-tonne capacity.
