Dafeng port to build roro terminal
Jiangsu Dafeng port started the construction of a new roro terminal this weekend to develop the port as the largest car transportation hub in East China. The project includes one 70,000 tons-class terminal, which will take a year to build. Dafeng will then be able to handle 400,000 cars. The roro terminal will have direct links between Dafeng and Korea, said Tao Ying, general manager of Dafeng Haigang Port. The port will also develop inland routes for roro vessels in the future. Since the port was established in October 2005, Dafeng has built 16 berths. The port handled 60,000 teu container throughput in the first three quarters of this year, an increase of 82.2% year-on-year. [20/10/14]
