Ferry broke lose in storm

In bad weather the mooring ropes of the 'Claudia', that was about to leave the port of Durrës for Ancona, broke in the evening of Feb 26, 2023. The ship went adrift and allided with the jetty of the port. The port tug was called to assist. There were no passengers aboard the ferry at the time of the incident. Ferry ramp blocked due to hydraulic failure

At Pier 2 in the port of Civitavecchia 889passengers were trapped aboard the "Af Claudia" after the arrival from Olbia in the morning of Sep 3, 2019. The ferry had a problem with the tailgate from which passengers and 350 vehicles should disembark. They remained stuck for several hours due to a failure of the hatchback's hydraulic system until the ramp was opened with the help of a crane. The passengers were assisted according to European legislation and supplied with meals on board.
