On June 8, 2011, at 10.36 a.m. the Hordaland police was notified of heavy smoke emerging from a 32 feet Cruiser just north of Flesland Skjæret. The sole skipper tried to extinguish it with powder, but at 10:44 he had to jump into the sea. The "Artic Fjord" was the first ship on scene and started to extinguish the fire. She was later supported by the lifeboat "Kristian Gerhard Jepsen" and a boat of the Bergen Fire Department. The yacht was completely ablaze when the cargo vessel reached the accident site. After the situation was under control, the "Artic Fjord" continued its voyage. The boat could be kept from sinking.
